This ship is rockin' and rollin'
This is our last day/night at sea, and we’re up against hurricane-force winds (70 knots, I believe the captain said). No one is allowed out on the decks. Fortunately, I’ve never suffered from motion sickness, so even though the sea is choppy, I actually have fun walking around. And for once, the shops are not crowded!
Two deaf couples are traveling with us, and the cruise line...
How many cooks spoil the broth?
Our ship has 1 executive chef, 1 executive sous-chef, 7 chefs and 140 cooks. They prepare 7,000 meals per day (and they haven’t spoiled the broth yet).
In addition to the Maitre D’ and about a dozen head waiters, 75 waiters and 75 assistant waiters from 52 countries serve diners at two seatings each evening.
One of my favorite dishes: Parmesan-crusted butterfish baked on a cedar...
Stoopid AT&T
Internet cafes onboard don’t have open USB ports, so I can’t connect my iPhone and upload any photos … and haven’t had an AT&T signal all day. Really weird — Laurie can get AT&T signal on her Blackberry, but nada on my iPhone. Wassup with that, AT&T???
Hopefully I’ll be able to post some photos when we get to Skagway in the morning. In the afternoon...
